ACDelco Gold (Professional) Remanufactured A/C Compressors are a high quality alternative to Original Equipment (OE) parts. These compressors pump refrigerant through the system, and are typically engine driven via the accessory belt. A clutch on the compressor is used to engage and disengage the compressor. Hybrid vehicles are typically equipped with an electric motor driven compressor. Compressors draw in cool refrigerant gas from the evaporator and pumps it to a much higher pressure. The high pressure gas travels on to the condenser. Remanufacturing A/C Compressors is an industry standard practice that involves disassembly of existing units, and replacing components that are most prone to wear with new components. Damaged and obsolete parts are replaced, and completed units are tested to ensure they perform to ACDelco specifications. In addition, remanufacturing returns components back into service rather than processing as scrap or simply disposing of them.
